How to Make Almond Butter

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

This recipe couldn’t be simpler! Almond butter is a great alternative to peanut if you’re getting a little tired of the standard nutty spread. Almond butter also has a lot more calcium and iron than peanut butter, which is always good in my book! It’s amazing when spread on toast, apples, and bananas, or added to smoothies for a boost of protein and healthy fats!

Almond Butter (makes about 1 cup)

3 c. dry roasted unsalted almonds

Add almonds to a food processor and grind until you achieve the texture you want! I wanted my almond butter pretty smooth, and using my big food processor that texture was achieved after about 45 seconds to a minute. Store in the fridge in an airtight jar.

Variations

Add 1 tsp vanilla extract for Vanilla Almond Butter

Add 1-3 tsp honey and 1/2 tsp sea salt for Honey Almond Butter

Add 2 tbsp. cocoa powder for Chocolate Almond Butter
